A Simple Steamed Rice

A simple steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (185g) long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups (475ml) water
  • 1 tablespoon(s) salt
  • 2 tablespoon(s) black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine everything: In a medium saucepan, add the rice, water, salt, pepper.

  2. Bring to a boil: Heat the pot over high heat and bring everything to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer: Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the pot tightly with a lid, and simmer for 15 minutes without opening the lid.

  4. Let it steam: After 15 minutes, turn off the heat and let the pot sit for another 15 minutes. Don’t open the lid.

  5. Fluff and serve: Fluff the rice with a fork before serving. You can drop pats of butter in if you want.
